Sotheby’s International Realty Website will soon be multi-lingual!

by Kymry A. Perez (RA), e-Pro 12. February 2009 07:06
Sleeping Giant Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to announce that our brand website, www.sothebysrealty.com, will soon be multi-lingual with the addition of seven new languages.

So far all functional and static information on the web site have been translated into Spanish and Portuguese.  It also will be translated into French, Italian, German, Russian and traditional Chinese within the next few weeks.  Translations are being done by professional translators based in each respective country, not by machine translation methods.  What this means is that consumers looking for Kauai real estate will now be able to search our inventory of Kauai homes, condominiums, and land for sale in their native language with just the simple click of a button.

In addition to the language translations, a currency conversion was added to our website in 2008 allowing consumers searching for Kauai real estate to convert the currency to the currency they use.

These enhancements to our website will allow Sleeping Giant Sotheby’s International Realty to better serve our clients on a global level.

Parallel Lives

by Debra Ryll 12. February 2009 07:02
By day he’s a “no drama” kind of guy, but outside of work, Sleeping Giant agent Ross Martineau is a trained actor with years of experience in the performing arts. His latest foray: directing the Kauai premier of Parallel Lives, February 20-March 8 at the KAPA Theater in Puhi.

Martineau, who delighted Kauai audiences with starring roles in Beauty and the Beast, The Fantasticks, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged and The Wiz, first saw Parallel Lives in New York in the late eighties. “It was a smash cult hit off-Broadway,” he says, “I’ve been a fan of the show for decades.”

Written by Kathy Najimy and Mo Gaffney, the Obie-award winning play features two of Kauai’s most talented actresses and comediennes, Jennifer Downs and Faith Harding. “I like to think of it as a cross between Carol Burnett and Lily Tomlin,” says Martineau of the sketch comedy. “It’s very funny and very smart—hilarious, but also quite thought provoking.”

“Live theater is such a gift,” he says. “Stop saying you should get out and see more theater and Just Do It. Come see this show!”

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm, and Sundays at 4 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors; for reservations call 245-7700.
